Okay I know 3 missions in 1 day but I figure the hardest will me finding a jon but the other 2 are easier and will over lap for a couple months! I have this terrible problem with holding onto things...okay okay so I'm a pack rat! I get it from my mother. I can't help but think that by holding onto things I don't need or unable to use, is actually causing part of my need to buy new things. I know long stretch but stay with me on this.
Every day I go into my basement and see lots of broken or unused things. Everyday I go into my bedroom and see boxes of clothes that don't fit me or the boys. I have accumulated so much of this that it looks like I have nothing. Well I do have a lot. I have a lot of cloths but 2 giant boxes sit in my room that don't fit and they look like more then what does fit.
I figure the money I make can go towards the smaller bills. I no have 3 bills under $100. So that's the goal. I need to slowly check everything! What doesn't work gets thrown away. What does work or is in good shape with be sold on craigs list or in a yard sale in september.
Wish me luck...
As of today I came to the realization that I know longer should be in debt. I am a single mother of two and am about to start school! My mission is to be out of debt and ready to move in with my fiancé by the end of school. 90 WEEKS! Will I make it? What are my options? Start from the very beginning to know the whole story...

cutting back rent!
So I pay $595 a month for my house plus electric. Its really not that bad when you consider its a full house with a back yard! Its only a two bedroom but, if I'm going to cut back spending I might as well move to a cheaper place...Right? WRONG!
If I was to move out I would still owe my land lord who has been extremely patient $4,760 plus add moving expenses. You have the Uhaul which is $20 a day, security deposit and firsts months rent (which face it would probably be 495) so that's over $1000 not including having to pay security deposits for utilities.
Nope I'm stuck here...
So now what's left to do?
ROOM MATE! I thought long and hard on this one. I have two kids and only 2 bedrooms. If I got someone I don't know then I'm gonna have to ask for only 1/4 the rent and utilities which would also leave me and the boys cramped into one room together. I could never fit all out bedroom stuff into one room!
My kids father is the answer for me. We are civil to each other and be is renting a room, so he really doesn't have much. When I told him the idea he jumped right on it.
He only needs 1 dresser for his clothes and he is willing to pay for half of everything! Rent, electric, food, and child care.

Mission 2: Find jobs
Like I had said in my first post I have been out of work for 8 months looking for a new job and using up my savings. How I wish I would have said take any job Jen, but I didn't. I stayed in my field, I felt I was to good for other jobs. Well now that I'm living at poverty level and waiting for the moment I get kicked out of my house, I have finally seen the light. If I must flip some burgers then its time to get to flipping.
I have a list of jobs that will hire me just for being enrolled in their school and tomorrow I'm going to put my resumes in. On top of that I plan to make extra money from any extra job I can find! I hope to be able to work from home for these jobs since I'm already going to be loosing so many hours with my kids :(. So here it goes! Wish me luck on mission 2...

The begining of the end!
In the 4 years of letting somebody else control my bills, the four years of being a mother and 3 years of being a single mother, I have finally come to the realization of my debt. I have bills from over 6 years ago in my name because I allowed and trusted my kids father who never actually paid them! So a lot of my bills are in collection agencies and some I probably don't even know about anymore because of 4 moves.
The thing that finally pushed me to pay everything off is I am about to start school, and I have been unemployed for 8 months now. It took 8 months to run out of my savings, and now I have recent bills adding up. I am scared to find out my credit report and get the full list so as of right now from all the bills I could find I seem to be $12,812.52!
I want, no need a fresh start before I finish school in 72 weeks! The idea of adding another $40 thousand has me freaking out. Plus I'm dating a man who is a car sales man, meaning he's anal about credit. He has great credit and I just don't want to pull him down when we move in together when I graduate.
This blog is my debt journal for the world to see. Its my own little way of keeping myself on track. The fact is I'm in this much debt because I love shopping instead of paying bills. So now I must answer to the world if I buy a brand new pair of stilettos instead of paying a bill. So please help me stay focused whould you? Comment and give advice. Let me know if I did a no no.
With that said let the mission begin.
